The Story of the Queen Anne
The Story of the Queen Anne

The Queen Anne pub on Bridge Street has been a central part of Golborne’s community for well over a century. Records from 1881 list it under the license of Thomas Hurst, showing it was already well established by that time. While the building likely predates the late 1800s, surviving photographs and local memories suggest it has stood in roughly the same location since the early 1900s, anchoring the village near the turn of the twentieth century.
Over the decades, it has remained a family-run free house, beloved for its traditional décor, hearty home-cooked meals and relaxed, welcoming atmosphere – a true fixture of the local drinking and dining scene.
